Join us for a weekend getaway to Xichu, a mountain pueblo tucked high in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato. This trip is for ages 16 and up and combines small town charm with a hike to Charco Azul, a remote pool known for its pristine blue waters. We'll depart San Miguel de Allende Friday at noon, spend two nights in the mountains, and return home Sunday afternoon.

Xichu has a history that goes back long before the Spanish arrived. The area was home to the Chichimeca people, who called the place Maxichu. The town itself was founded in 1585, and today it's known for huapango arribeno, a traditional style of music and dance, along with cooler mountain air and misty views you won't find back in San Miguel.
